IMPORTANT: Only students or teachers/staff at New Zealand High Schools are eligible to join the Space Up! High School Club.

Official New Zealand High School Email addresses ending in .school.nz must be used for sign up
WISANZ reserve the right to confirm Space Up! members’ enrolment/employment at New Zealand high schools. Ineligible members will be removed.

Space Up! is a club for students attending high school in Aotearoa New Zealand who are passionate about space, or are just curious to learn more about space and the space sector - facilitated by Women in Space Aotearoa New Zealand (WISANZ).

Space Up! is free to join for any student at secondary school in Aotearoa New Zealand, with the primary focus of the club to enable girls and young women who are interested in space to engage with each other as well as with WISANZ mentors working in Aotearoa New Zealand’s space sector.

What’s included?

Access to Special Space Content

From videos to reference material to links to interesting space web content, Space Up! members have access to a library of different space-related content, to help them learn more about space and space study and career options, with a special focus on Aotearoa New Zealand’s space sector.

Chat with real life women space mentors

Through discussion forums and Q&A sessions, Space Up! members can ask our WISANZ space mentors about their specialist space subject areas, about their study and career pathways.

Meet and chat with other students passionate about space

Space Up! members will be able to engage with other high school students in Aotearoa New Zealand who are passionate about space - through Q&A sessions and mentor hosted virtual and in-person Space Up! ‘meet ups’.

Access to In-Person and Live Online Space Events

Space Up! members will be invited to attend online events like showcases and presentations by space mentors (from WISANZ, and across the New Zealand and global space sectors), as well as to attend special Space Up! in person events in different cities in New Zealand.

Participate in competitions

Win cool prizes and learn about the space theme on offer from NZ space experts. Space Up! members can participate in this yearly tradition and get the opportunity to interact with women in the industry.
